Adverbios de tiempo

Los adverbios de tiempo nos dicen cuándo ocurre algo. Son una referencia de tiempo. Solemos ponerlos al final de la oración, pero pueden cambiar su posición dependiendo de si el hablante/emisor quiere hacer hincapié. Hay muchos adverbios de tiempo, por mencionar solo algunos: today, now, then, yesterday, tomorrow, tonight etc.

(1) Adverbios de tiempo que detallan cuándo ocurre algo:
  • Maria went to the supermarket yesterday.
  • Are you going out tonight?
  • Back then I was not very mature.
  • Today, we’re going for a nice walk.
  • What did they do yesterday?
  • I don’t feel like studying right now.

 

(2) Adverbios de tiempo que detallan cuánto tiempo dura:
  • How long have you been with the company? I’ve been here since 2007.
  • I haven’t seen her in two days. 
  • They’ve been studying for three weeks, 
  • How long did it take you? It took me six days. 
  • I’ve been here since yesterday.
  • It took me years to figure out how to play the piano.
  • Did you see the boss in her office last Tuesday?
  • No one wants to work on Saturday.
  • The weekend isn’t mean to be stressful.
